Nursing Program ranked in Top 20 programs in Illinois

The Kishwaukee College Nursing Program received notification from RegisteredNurse.org that it has been named one of the Top 20 Nursing Programs in Illinois. The Kish Program was ranked 14th out of 76 programs evaluated.

RegisteredNurse.org evaluated programs primarily on factors which represent how well a program supports students towards licensure and beyond. The evaluation included NCLEX-RN (National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses) Pass Rates over a several year period for each institution. NCLEX-RN is administered to nursing graduates for licensure in the United States. The Kish Nursing Program posted a 96% pass rate on the NCLEX-RN in 2015, the most recent year data is available. National pass rate for 2015 NCLEX-RN was 85% and the State of Illinois pass rate was 86%.

Bette Chilton, Dean of Health & Education stated, "We are honored to be recognized by RegisteredNurse.org! I think it speaks volumes as to the quality of our program, faculty and students at Kishwaukee College."

Kelly Soost, Coordinator of Nursing, added, "This state ranking reflects our students' commitment to excellence as nursing professionals. A large component in determining the ranking was first time pass rate on the NCLEX and our students surpass the state and national averages every year. Congratulations to our faculty and students for this recognition!"
