April 15th, 2014—Kishwaukee College invites all community members interested in exploring education at the college level to Discover KC on April 26 from 9:00a.m. to noon in the Student Center on campus. Tricia Wagner, Director of Adult Education at Kishwaukee College and a member of the Discover KC planning committee, stated, "This event is for anyone who is interested in pursuing a college education, from soon-to-be high school grads to adults who are returning to school. Kishwaukee College offers programs for everyone, whatever their plans. Discover KC is a great way for the community to see how we can help you achieve your goals!" < Full Article
April 15th, 2014—Kishwaukee College students earned several top ten place finishes, including four students who were first place winners, in the Annual SkillsUSA Illinois State Leadership Conference and Championships held in Springfield on April 3 - 5. The First Place winners — Mike Zimbrich in Power Equipment Technology and the team of Susanna Herrmann, Penny Ingalls, and Emerald Fannin in Crime Scene Investigation — will compete at the 50th National SkillsUSA Leadership Conference and Championships that will be held in Kansas City, MO on June 23 — 27. < Full Article
April 14th, 2014—Charlotte Lee, Sycamore, has been selected as the winner of the Illinois Community College Trustees Association (ICCTA) Paul Simon Student Essay Contest at Kishwaukee College. Lee received a certificate and reimbursement of her Spring 2014 tuition and fees from the Board of Trustees at their monthly meeting held April 8. Lee's essay will now be entered in the statewide competition to possibly earn an additional $500 stipend to be used toward Fall 2014 educational expenses. < Full Article
April 14th, 2014—Mark Schwendau, Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Technology faculty at Kishwaukee College, was named a recipient of the Illinois SkillsUSA Red Blazer (Lifetime Achievement) Award at the Illinois State SkillsUSA Leadership Conference and SkillsUSA Championships in Springfield on April 3. Schwendau stated, "I am both humbled and honored by this award as it comes from an organization that does so much, so selflessly, for our nation's youth."< Full Article
