Business

Business is a broad term that can be used to refer to a diverse group of fields that together create a climate in which an organization can contribute in any of a variety of ways to the overall economy.  Specialties within business include accounting, finance, human resources, marketing, and management. People with a more general business degree or a specialty in any of these fields can work in any and every sector of society: industry, healthcare, retail, real estate, non-profits. The possibilities are nearly endless.

Across business fields, most general and specialized degrees will involve some math ability, organizational skills, project development and management, working with a team, prioritizing, seeing the overall scope and details required for a project or event, and communication skills. Most business degrees, therefore, will incorporate coursework that will give students a solid foundation in all these areas.

The Baccalaureate Transfer program will prepare you to transfer to a four-year university majoring in business.  With this option, you will spend your first two years at Kishwaukee College earning an Associate of Science (A.S.) or Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree taking only the business courses required by the four-year school to which you plan to transfer.  You will need to see an Academic Advisor as you plan your transfer program.
