What is the Kishwaukee College text alert system?
Stay connected to Kishwaukee College wherever you and your cell phone are! Kishwaukee College has partnered with the Daily Chronicle and Shaw Suburban Media to use text alerts as ONE of our methods of mass communication. Text Alert System can send messages within minutes to the wireless devices of subscribers.
The Daily Chronicle operates Text Alerts. By signing up, you understand and agree that Kishwaukee College does not maintain the Text Alert System and is not responsible for its maintenance.
When will students/faculty receive text alerts?
A Text Alert will be sent to you regarding important campus news: school closings, tuition due dates, and registration information.
Text Alerts will not be used as an emergency notification system.
How do I sign up?
Sign up is fast and easy! Follow these steps:
- Step 1: Read the policy on Text Alerts for Kishwaukee College
- Step 2: If you agree to the terms and conditions, click on the highlighted link.
- Step 3: You will be directed to Text Alert signup page through the Daily Chronicle website. Follow the directions for signup.
NOTE: By signing up for Text Alerts, you acknowledge that Kishwaukee College is a third party in this process.
Who is authorized to send out text messages?
Messages will be sent by Kishwaukee College Marketing Services Department under the direction and approval of the College President or appropriate Vice President.
How can I get more information once I receive a text alert?
Due to the size limitations of text alerts, a Text Alert message will be very brief. More information will be made available through other communication channels, including the College Website, student and staff email, local radio stations, and College switchboard.
If I change my mind and do not want to receive text alerts, can I cancel?
You may change or un-subscribe through the text alert signup on the Daily Chronicle website at anytime.
What steps are taken to ensure the information I submit is secure?

Is there a charge?
The Text Alert program is a free service provided through a partnership with Kishwaukee College and the Daily Chronicle. Check with your wireless provider for any additional text message fees that may apply.
What number will be reflected on my caller ID when an alert is sent?
Message will show as sent from textalerts@Daily-Chronicle.com.
First line of message will begin with BTYB (Sponsor Name) and then our message.
